## Description

The New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (District) is preparing plans and specifications for construction of the Lake Montauk Harbor Navigation Improvement Project, Town of East Hampton, CAP Section 107 Navigation Improvement Project.

**DESCRIPTION:** The project involves deepening the existing federally authorized navigation channel at Lake Montauk Harbor, New York. The channel depth will be increased from -12 feet MLLW to -17 feet MLLW. In addition, a deposition basin approximately 100 feet wide will be constructed immediately east of the channel. The estimated volume includes approximately 100,000 CY of sand and 15,000 CY of hard material including excess cobbles, rock, and boulders. Hard material will be transported and placed at Mattituck Reef, one of New York States artificial reefs. The allowable window for dredging is from October through December 2025 (a 3-month timeframe) not including mobilization and demobilization.

**LOCATION:** The project area is located in East Hampton, Suffolk County, NY, and includes the Lake Montauk Harbor as well as the inlet connecting it to Block Island Sound and along the Block Island Sound shoreline to the west.
