Each set of slide gates consists of an emergency and main gate, each 5' 8\" wide by 10' 0\" high, with the emergency gate located 8' 0\" upstream from the main gate. The slide gates are supplemented by two-24-inch diameter bypass conduits, each of which is controlled by a butterfly valve. The intake tower is a mission critical asset. The existing tower roof is a slightly sloped flat rubber torch down roofing system encompassing a concrete surface. It is surrounded by an octagon shaped concrete parapet wall with safety rails and lightning arrestors. The roof plan has a 14” gravity drain, ventilator with a damper, a roof hatch with a 2’- 6” x 3’ inside opening, a furnace stack enclosure, and a rain collection platform with an antenna for data collection and transmission for the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The scope of work will include the full removal of the existing rubber roofing system and re-install a new 60 mil ethylene propylene diene terpolymer membrane (EPDM).
