An upgrade performed by the OEM is the only way to ensure proper integration, functionality, and compliance with safety regulations. A third-party vendor would not have access to the proprietary hardware, software, or the training necessary to safely and effectively perform the upgrade. Attempting to use an unauthorized vendor would void any warranty and introduce unacceptable risks to this critical life-safety system.
