The requirement is for the supply of expendable radiosondes for upper air data collection. The Vaisala systems were selected by the Range Commanders Council Meteorology Group (RCCMG) and standardized across the U.S. Army to provide a commonality between installations with the sharing of data relative to on-going testing. A requirements contract will provide for filling all actual purchase requirements of designated Army test centers. Vaisala, Inc., is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and owns all proprietary data and patent rights to this equipment. No other manufacturer's product is compatible in salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics. Vaisala Inc. has the knowledge, experience, and capability to supply the required items.
