## Description

Product Description AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (VENTILATED ENCLOSURE/PAINT BOOTH) Many ventilation systems exist and could potentially be used to control the Cr(VI) hazard during aviation maintenance processes. Selection should be done in collaboration with Industrial Hygiene and Safety professionals to ensure the ventilation system meets minimum design criteria.

Defense Centers for Public Health-Aberdeen recommends the following minimum design criteria: • American Conference of Governmental Hygienists (ACGIH)® Industrial Ventilation Manual Figure VS-75-01 Large Paint Booth: Minimum cross-sectional velocity of 100 feet per minute (fpm) for a large deep booth with a cross-sectional area greater than 150 square feet (ft2).

Airless electrostatic and high velocity low pressure spray paint operations require an air velocity of 100 fpm. • ACGIH® Industrial Ventilation Manual Figure VS-80-01 Abrasive Blasting Room: Cross-sectional minimum velocity of 100 fpm. • American National Standards Institute/American Society of Safety Professionals (ANSI/ASSP)

**Z9.4-201 I (R2021):** Requires a cross-sectional velocity of 100 fpm. Exhaust System - 18,000 Cubic Feet per Minute or higher to achieve ACGIH recommended TLVs - Must verify accurate testing and sampling data that system will provide clean air below the ACGIH TLVs of 0.0002mg/m3 - Multi-stage Particulate filtration exceeds the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) 319 to ensure Soldiers working outside of the enclosure are not exposed to hexavalent chromium levels in excess of .0002mg/m3.

Enclosure - Enclosure must be Cross Draft Negative - Material NFPA 701 Compliant - Recommend size: 10’H X 18’W X 45”L (based on hangar size and unit requirements) Fire Suppression - Dry Chemical to protect both the enclosure and exhaust - Pre-engineered meeting NFPA 17 Standard for Dry Chemical extinguishing Replacement Filters - 18 Month Supply Lighting - Eight (8) Lights: 10,000 lumens per light Warranty - 5-year warranty
