Medical Readiness Contracting Office - Pacific hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole-source, firm fixed price contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). As a result, the Government intends to award directly to Thermo Electron North America LLC in West Palm Beach, FL in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This requirement is expected to be an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for a 5-year ordering period. This requirement is for the procurement for biomedical maintenance and repair services for a Government-Owned Thermo Electron Q Exactive Laboratory Analyzer System and only the OEM can provide the supplies/parts and/or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies and/or or services are unique and highly specialized. Additionally, the OEM, Thermo Electron North America LLC, has proprietary rights to design and software utilized in their instruments only their field engineers are certified, and factory trained engineers available to service these instruments. The attached performance work statement detail the requirements of this anticipated contract action. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES; no solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated supplies can provide supporting documents demonstrating their capabilities and certifications.
