This service will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The period of performance for the required maintenance agreement commences on 22 October 2024 and ends 21 October 2029 with four (4) one-year options. The sole source determination is IAW FAR 13.106 and based on very specific equipment that needs maintaining; The Nucleic Acid Processor QuantStudio DX and Analyzer Molecular Machine 7500 FASTDX are highly specialized in design and application requiring software and firmware updates and system components upgrades that are proprietary to the vendor. LifeTech is the manufacturer of this system. The manufacturer is the only company that has specialized and technical knowledge as well as the necessary tools, manpower and repair parts to maintain this piece of equipment in an operable state. Another vendor was not located that had the technical and specialized knowledge and/or accessibility to repair parts for this system. Therefore, LifeTech is the one source reasonably available to meet the needs of the government. This is not a request for quote.
