The Alabama Joint National Guard currently has Craneworks, Inc. on contract to provide crane operation at the Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport (BMH). While other crane company could obtain access and get FAA certification to work at the airport, our need is now, and a short-term need (less than 1 year) and Not to Exceed $40,000. Failure to load these weapons systems in timely manner would result in reduced capabilities to support the Global Reaction Force (GRF) initiatives abroad. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is FAR SUBPART 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services FAR 13.501(a) – Sole Source Justification AND Approval - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The estimated value of the Crane Services is $40,000. The period of performance is 15 Mar 2024 – 14 Mar 2025 The anticipated award date is approximately 15 March 2024. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the Contracting Office at BGAD.
