## Description

The purpose of this effort is to issue a sole source solicitation under Title 10 United Stated Code (U.S.C.) §3204(a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.103-1(c)(2)(i), substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition to Dillon Aero, Inc. This sole source requirement will result in a Firm Fixed Priced Indefinite Delivery Indefinite contract.

The requirement for M134D Minigun weapon systems, along with associated mounting systems for various air/water/ground platforms, parts, accessories, support equipment, installation, and training for operators and maintainers. The M134D variants, including the M134D-H and M134D-M, are 7.62x51mm rotary machine guns.

The Government has a need for M134D variants as they are capable of delivering precision and rapid fire on personnel and vehicle-sized (2m x 3m) materiel targets with fixed firing rates of 3,000 rounds per minute. The M134D-H is a hybrid design that utilizes titanium and skeletonized parts to offer increased weight savings of 10-20 pounds while retaining the longer service life of the steel gun.

The M134D-M (marinized) variation utilizes ceramic coatings to improve corrosion resistance for use in the marine environment. Spare parts and accessories are also required for each configuration and will be incorporated into the contract. Installation and training services will be included for platform installation (air/ground/water platforms) and operator and maintainer training courses.
