## Description

This is a REQUEST FOR INTEREST ONLY! This request does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. The intent of this request is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes only.

Request for Information (RFI) Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from potential suppliers with a background in fabrication of Electrolytic Dissolver Components. This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation. The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles.

**Scope Summary:** Design, fabrication, inspection, testing, documentation, and delivery of an Anode/Cathode Assembly to be mated to a Dissolver vessel by others. The assembly is an electromechanical device without moving parts with overall dimensions on the order of five to ten feet (See sketch).

Deliverables include One set of sub-assemblies Fabrication and assembly drawings Fabrication materials include Stainless steel flanges that mate with vessel surfaces and piping connections; Ceramic and niobium structural parts; Gold gaskets; Aluminum conductive parts; Platinum explosion-bonded parts. Fabrication techniques include Niobium and stainless steel welding (GTAW) Gold and chromium electroplating on aluminum and niobium. Finishing techniques include cold rolling, annealing, and cleaning.

Inspection techniques include X-ray or ultrasonic examination radiographic examination Weld hardness Electrical conductivity and resistivity A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP). Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following:

Supplier capability statement/personnel qualifications Standard lead time for fabrication Past performance relative to subject scope Quality Assurance Manual (Uncontrolled Copy) Qualification for codes and standards E-mail response addressing Items 1 through 5 above (attachments in pdf format) shall be submitted by 5:00 p.m. est. on 6/20/24 to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov.
