This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) is in support of Market Research being conducted by the Defense Logistics Agency to identify potential manufacturing/supply sources, and if future efforts can be competitive or Set Aside for Small Business. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 336413 which has a corresponding Size Standard of 1250 employees. This SSS is to notify companies that the Defense Logistics Agency, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is seeking qualified sources for the acquisition of a COVER ASSY, UPPER, NSN: 1615-01-112-5875, Part Number: 145D1302-9 in support of the A-BK/CH47 CHINOOK weapon system. As a result, this acquisition is currently being procured under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(1) having only one responsible source. The Government is interested in all businesses to include 8(a), small business and small disadvantaged business, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The required Production Lead is 1050 days after contract award. The proposed sole source action will be issued to Boeing Company, Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) code 77272, and is intended to be on a sole source basis and supported by a Justification and Approval (J&A) memorandum, dated 12 May 2020, and IAW FAR 6.302-1(a)(2): Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The acquisition is restricted to the only source of supply known to have the capability of furnishing the required logistics support – The Boeing Company.
