This will also meet the SFIHC accreditation compliance. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In order to provide quality, efficient, and cost-effective health care to patients, the Santa Fe Indian Health Service needs a formulary model of health care. Information about the medication formulary including disease and dosing information is needed to be accessible to all providers, nurses, and pharmacists. A drug information software is needed to achieve these goals. These goals are also reflected in Service Unit Accreditation regulatory requirements. REQUIREMENTS: Software needed to provide the following: Provide source for drug information on medications, formulary or non-formulary, such as: disease states indicated for treatment, mechanisms of action, dosing guidelines, side effects, drug interactions, and pharmacokinetic information. This should be a tool that providers, nurses, and pharmacists can easily access to help make drug therapy decisions. Provide IV compatibility information for inpatient provider, nursing, and pharmacy use. Provide other drug information such as alternative medicines, material safety data sheets (MSDS), poison information, pediatric drug dosing guidelines, and neonatal dosing guidelines. HOURS OF OPERATION & PLACE OF DELIVERY: Hours of operation will be M-F from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
