## Description

The Building America Subject Matter Expert Technical Support Request for Proposals will not be moving forward at this time. Thank you for your interest. See amendment 02 to the solicitation canceling this opportunity. DOE’s Building America Program has been a source of innovations in residential building energy efficiency and performance, indoor air quality and comfort, durability, quality, and affordability for over 30 years.

The program leverages cutting-edge building science research to develop the solutions and best practices needed to advance energy efficiency in homes. NREL seeks to engage leading subject matter experts (SMEs) in research, field validation, analysis, dissemination, and technical support efforts to address industry needs related to energy efficient building technologies and practices.

This work focuses on technical topics including, but not limited to, moisture, humidity, infiltration, envelope upgrades, new construction, retrofits, and whole home solutions. SMEs will also conduct modeling and analysis, data collection, industry analysis, and market scaling support. This work will include knowledge transfer to provide actionable guidance and information to industry stakeholders.

NREL provides technical support to BTO to advance and expand building technologies to enhance the affordability, comfort, resilience, and health while supporting a reliable energy system in buildings. NREL supports Building America through scientific leadership and building science expertise to ensure high-quality, impactful results from Building America’s research efforts. NREL is responsible for developing and managing the subject matter expert technical support portfolio.
