## Description

The purpose of this requirement is to provide laboratory analysis for metabolomics assays on human serum samples in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients. The vendor will receive 270 human serum samples from WRAIR, perform metabolomics assays on samples and provide WRAIR the data from the assay. The unique component of this research methodology is the utilization of a Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS) platform.

The LC/MS platform processes the human serum samples and uses a validated analytical pipeline that annotates the spectral features to determine the unique metabolite profile findings. If base year results are verified across existing datasets Medical Readiness Systems Biology (MRSB) will require further analyses and will intend to exercise option years.

Each option year, the vendor will receive 100 human serum samples from WRAIR, perform metabolomics assays on samples and provide WRAIR the deliverable assay data sets via DoDSAFE. The laboratory analysis for metabolomics and lipidomics profiles is projected to be conducted off-site, at the vendor’s laboratory. No geographical or location limitations are expected to influence the services provided by the vendor.
