The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), with Bruker BioSpin, Corporation, 15 Fortune Dr, Billerica, Massachusetts, 01821-3923, United States, as the only responsible source that can provide repair and maintenance services for the following items: **Magnet – 500/54 Ascend (SN:** BZH335 50070E – 634) Console – Avancell 1 Bay (SN H031280B/0500/R/6030) Probe – PA BBO 500S1 BBF-H-D-05 Z SP (SN: Z119470/218) **BCU I Cooling Unit (SN:** Z11825 0107\278) HP Computer (SN CZC526C36) Emerson UPS (S/N 154200189BW933) These services are required for a period of twelve (12) months with four (4) annual option periods. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-83 are incorporated. USAMRICD intends to procure a firm-fixed-price contract for these non-personal services. Market research was conducted, and only one vendor, Bruker BioSpin, Corp., was identified as being capable of completing the requested repair and maintenance services. Bruker BioSpin, Corp. is the manufacturer of the above items being maintained and repaired. Only Bruker has technicians certified to maintain and repairs this equipment. Additionally, any third-party repairs or maintenance on the previously listed equipment voids the warranty extended by Bruker. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811210 – Electronic Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance a Small Business Size Standard of $34,000,000.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document will be posted for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Submissions that request documentation, request additional information or that solely ask questions will be determined to not be an affirmative response. Responses determined to be not an affirmative response are not valid and no further action will be taken with the response. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a). Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable maintenance and repair services for the above listed equipment are provided by Bruker BioSpin, Corporation, 15 Fortune Dr, Billerica, Massachusetts, 01821-3923, United States.
