Provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2024-02 are incorporated. The Bronx Veterans Medical Research Foundation (BVMRF), James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will provide laboratory research on provided samples, using specified methods to conduct genomic DNA isolation, genotyping, and data analysis. Specifically, this contract will provide analysis of the APOE-?4 allele and its influence on blast-related outcomes. The APOE gene provides instructions for making a protein called apolipoprotein E (APOE), and the APOE-?4 version of the gene is associated with an increased risk of developing dementia. The intended acquisition will be classified under North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) 621511, Medical Laboratories, with a size standard of $41.5M Dollars. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(3) and 5.203(a). USAMRAA intends to release a solicitation no sooner than fifteen (15) days after publishing this synopsis. This Special Notice of Intent (NOI) is not a request for competitive quotes. Meaningful submissions received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
