## Description

The Contractor shall provide Roman Catholic specific services, rites, and sacraments, to the military members of Fort Detrick, to comply with the relevant religious freedom statues. The contractor shall provide specific professional distinctive essential elements of the religious services as determined in this contract and as dictated by the Roman Catholic Church.

The Contractor shall provide Sunday Mass, Holy Day Masses, Emergency Ministrations, and other clergy services as requested including pastoral counseling and visitations. The Contractor shall oversee and be a resource for Religious Education classes which are essential to religious service, CCD Confirmation class, and Sacramental preparation classes for First Communion, Baptism, Confirmation, and Pre-marriage.

The Archdiocese for Military Services (AMS) is an entity of the Roman Catholic Church whose mission is to provide the full range of pastoral ministries and spiritual services to those in the United States Armed Forces and other persons served at Army Medical Centers. The Archdiocese serves as the sole endorser (certifier) of Roman Catholic Chaplains to the United States government. A Roman Catholic priest cannot serve this population without the express permission (endorsement) of the Archdiocese.
