## Description

This Illumina support plan is necessary for our Nextseq 2000 instrument service for the IRF. The NextSeq2000 is a two color, high throughput system capable of running multiple applications, including single cell library preps, RNAseq, ChIPseq and whole exome sequencing. This machine, uses a newly developed microfluidic system, resulting in a more user friendly experience, and easier maintenance platform.

This request will cover the PM and service plan, as the NextSeq 2000 warranty period terminates in the Fall of 2023. The MiSeq is a smaller 4 color Illumina sequencing platform. This machine was acquired and placed at the IRF in 2016. After changes in the endpoint of the machine, the IRF was given permission to use the machine in house. To be able to get the machine up and running, Illumina requires a system health check and then the machine can be placed on a preventative maintenance and service plan. This machine is different from the NextSeq 2000. With the MiSeq machine functional, the NextSeq2000 can be used Single Cell Sequencing or full transcriptomic runs.
