## Description

**Description:** This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (NIH-CC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corp. The National Institute of Health’s Clinical Center (Program) needs to maintain its current Fuji Medical (formerly TeraMedica)’s SynapseVNA product at the latest revision level and to provide technical support for that product, when necessary.

This package forms the core of the ResearchPACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) maintained by RADIS/CC on behalf of NIH. Thus, software maintenance/updates are needed from Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corp. (aka FujiFilm Medical Systems USA Inc.) (“FujiFilm”).

They will provide access to full product documentation, knowledge-based support, software updates, software patches, bug fixes, and software maintenance releases with new features through the annual software maintenance program for our existing Fuji Medical’s SynapseVNA-based ResearchPACS consisting of existing Synapse VNA products. Synapse VNA is a vendor-neutral-archive which is used to store clinical and research medical images for the intramural NIH program.

Program is currently using this system for its research and medical programs. Fuji Medical is the developer, sole licensor, and sole provider of technical support for the Synapse family of products. They are only seller of these software and maintenance/upgrades and have no resellers. Thus, they are the only entity capable of providing the needed technical updates and support services.

As long as Fuji Medical Systems remains the ‘owner’ of the Synapse family of products, future purchases of SynapseVNA licenses and technical support will have to be made from Fuji Medical Systems. In conclusion, no other source besides Fuji Medical Systems is capable of providing additional SynapseVNA licenses and their technical support teams are the only ones capable of properly installing and configuring the SynapseVNA application together with its associated databases.
