This is a sole source requirement inasmuch as Illumina Inc has proprietary rights to the instrument design/schematics and software utilized in the instrument. As OEM, only Illumina Inc has access to performance verified hardware/software upgrades, reagents, remote technical support, and engineering resources to maintain the original operating specifications of each instrument. Furthermore, Illumina Inc Service Engineers are the only certified and factory trained personnel available to service the MiSeq2 instrument. A firm fixed-price purchase order to renew the service contracts will be negotiated and issued on or about 12 Sep 2024 for a 12-month performance period and include three (3) 1-yr. option periods. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Inquiries will only be accepted via e-mail to randy.schroyer@nist.gov. The government will consider responses received by 5:00PM, EST, 12 Aug 2024. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
