The MK 66 HUTT system is a modular, scalable, and easily configurable Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) system that acts as an artificial acoustic target for Anti-submarine Warfare (ASW) training for on range and open ocean use. The resultant commercial contract will contain provisions for delivery and task orders to be awarded on a Firm Fixed price (FFP) basis. It is anticipated the single award IDIQ will have an ordering period from the date of contract through sixty (60) months after date of award. This requirement is a sole source follow-on production contract to an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) in accordance with 10 U.S.C. § 4022 (Authority of the Department of Defense to carry out certain prototype projects) & DFARS 206.001-70 (Exception for prototype projects for follow-on production contracts). The incumbent from the OTA is SAAB Inc. (CAGE Code 1EG52). The agreement N666041890001/N666042493202 was competitively awarded through the Undersea Technology Innovation Consortium (UTIC) 23-01-003. The anticipated release date of the RFP N66604-26-R-0230 is April 2026. The specific evaluation criteria will be outlined in the solicitation.
