## Description

The purpose of this amendment is to close the posting on March 25 2024 at 6:00 PM, as the solicitation close date was inadvertantly set to 11 April 2024, instead of 11 March 2024. NUWCDIVNPT intends to purchase, on a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Sole Source basis, Time Resolver Particle Image Velocmetry (PIV) System and associated components, as detailed in the attached combined solicitation/synopsis document. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement in the future. A justification and approval (J&A) to pursue sole source award to LaVision Inc has been approved for this action. The basis of the Justification is as follows:

The Code 851 lab currently supports an antiquated LaVision Flowmaster and DaVis PIV software and system but requires a new system with time resolved capabilities. Procuring other than La vision components would not be compable with NUWC/s Existing laser, and would require repurchase of a laser that would be comaptible with an alternative brand. Cameras purchased from an alternative vendor would have to be "unlocked" at an additional cost. Users would have to be retrained on an other than LaVsion System. These efforts are expected to come at a cost impact of over $293K, and would exceed the governments required schedule by over a year.
