Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic, Norfolk, VA intends to sole source a contract to Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SELU) 2350 NE Hopkins CT Pullman, Washington 99163, for the commercial purchase of in-person PROT 401 Tailored: Protecting Power Systems for Engineers training. The contract will be for a period of one year. This requirement meets the conditions of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), only one responsible source is able to provide the type of service that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government requires instructions by SELU on how to design, implement and enforce NFPA 70 design and construction requirements for safety. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals, or quotations. No solicitation documentation exists, and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids, quotes, or proposals. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 611430 – Professional and Management Development Training. The Small Business size standard is $15 million. Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is a large business. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
