## Description

Sole Source to South Bay Wire and Cable Company per attachment. This procurement is the sole source for the following reasons. Since the sonar relies on older components, some of these are either near End of Life (EOL) or obsolete, e.g. Tow Cable. Due to the Tow Cable obsolesce, NSWC PCD personnel reach out to South Bay Wire and Cable and provided the old drawing to verify if they can meet legacy cable specs. SouthBay Cable meets legacy specs and provide the FAT test within the first unit build. For alternate companies to design and fabricate a suitable cable would take approximately the alternate company to conduct and complete FAT testing plus needing Government approval
