On March 24, 2025, Norfolk Naval Shipyard C500 sent an email requesting the termination of contract N42158-23-P-S161 for the convenience of the government. C500 concluded that the service was no longer necessary following the release of NAVSEAINST 4400, the Overarching Naval Shipyard Supply Policy, in July 2024. This policy transferred all expediting functions at Norfolk Naval Shipyard to DLA Land & Maritime.
