On Guam, Guam Waterworks Authority (GWA) is the only water service provider due to history of Government of Guam consolidation and its status as a legally mandated, self-supporting monopoly for water and wastewater services. GWA also provides water and wastewater service to military customers, including but not limited to Naval Base Guam (NBG), Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz (MCBCB), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB). GWA is responsible for the island’s public water supply, water distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment systems. Military installations are not able to provide potable water and wastewater service to all the Department of War (DoW) service areas on Guam.
