## Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego intends to award a sole source contract to Hawthorne Machinery to provide for Caterpillar (CAT) equipment maintenance services. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure 100 percent operational readiness of CAT cargo handling equipment and generators critical to Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) and Expeditionary Medical Unit (EMU) training exercises.

Generators are required for providing power to the entire EMF during training evolutions. Cargo handling equipment is necessary to move all heavy equipment such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) containers, Steel Transfer Facility (STF) equipment, EMF training equipment etc. in place during the build and retrograde of the EMF for all expeditionary training exercises.

Cargo handling equipment and generators require periodic maintenance/repair requirements that are unable to be fulfilled by Naval Expeditionary Medical Training Institute (NEMTI) staff due to the lack of manning, test equipment, and certified technicians. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming.

Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 04 September 2024. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government.

Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
