No award will be made as a result of this request. **Description:** The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Contracts Department, Code 02 is seeking potential solutions capable of characterizing* an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a hard-to-reach area. The ideal end state for this system is to be integrated into a remotely operated platform. This tool will be used within the Department of Defense (DoD) end-user community. *Characterization is defined as: The identification of one or more components of a threat that will provide an understanding of the threat type by function or category. NSWC IHD is requesting information with the intention of identifying technologies that have the ability to enhance current IED characterization capabilities. This technology must be capable of performing neutralization in a hard-to-reach area such as on top of a building, in a tree, on a steep embankment, around corners, under bridges, behind barriers. This technology does not have to be an end-state solution but can be incorporated/integrated into a system of systems. This RFI seeks information on Commercial off the Shelf (COTS), Government off the Shelf (GOTS), and Modified Commercial off the Shelf (MCOTS) systems that could be directly applied, or readily integrated, to meet current and future requested capabilities. Submissions should fully explain technological features, capabilities, and performance. Commercial, non-developmental, and developmental systems may be included in the information provided. If the vendor does not have a current solution but has a concept that could meet current and future requested capabilities, submit the concept to include the strategy, risks and challenges it would take to meet the capabilities and a timeline for reaching TRL 8.
