The Government is approaching this opportunity with the ultimate goal of increasing competition. The Government is conducting this market research to develop more informed future solicitations within current industry constraints. General Capabilities: PMS-420 seeks to understand industry capabilities to provide production, manufacturing, engineering and sustainment support for the LCS MMs. The LCS MMs support the LCS vessel in its mission to defeat asymmetric threats and ensure naval and joint force access into contested littoral regions. The LCS MM Program has employed an incremental development approach to deliver capability, which allows for insertion of mature capabilities throughout the life of the program without the need for modifications to the LCS seaframes. The LCS MM Program is also the integrator of separately procured mission modules and equipment, e.g. berthing augmentation, gun and missile weapon systems, mine countermeasures payload delivery systems, etc. Each mission module often makes use of common support containers whose designs are based upon an ISO-compliant base shipping container. The Navy is seeking information regarding solutions that can meet the requirements of the LCS MM program as described in this notice. For reviewing responses, the Navy has organized efforts into two areas: (1) Production Hardware and (2) Operations and Sustainment Support. Production Hardware covers all manufacturing and production of LCS MM hardware end items. General Capabilities: PMS-420 seeks to understand industry capabilities to provide production, manufacturing, engineering and sustainment support for the LCS MMs. The LCS MMs support the LCS vessel in its mission to defeat asymmetric threats and ensure naval and joint force access into contested littoral regions. The LCS MM Program has employed an incremental development approach to deliver capability, which allows for insertion of mature capabilities throughout the life of the program without the need for modifications to the LCS seaframes. The LCS MM Program is also the integrator of separately procured mission modules and equipment, e.g. berthing augmentation, gun and missile weapon systems, mine countermeasures payload delivery systems, etc. Each mission module often makes use of common support containers whose designs are based upon an ISO-compliant base shipping container. The Future USV program will be an open ocean, 25+ knot, high endurance, non-exquisite, autonomous vessel. The vessel will be built to commercial standards and will provide the interfaces, payload deck area, and support for two forty-foot equivalent unit (FEU) containerized payloads, each weighing 80,000 lbs. The purpose of this Industry Day is to improve Industry’s understanding of how the Future USV fits into the transforming surface force. The objective of Industry Day is to provide Government information and solicit industry feedback to accelerate the development and procurement of future USVs. This Special Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, proposal quotations, or as an obligation on the part of the Government. Future USV Industry Day will provide an overview of the Future USV Program vision and objectives; the program schedule; and the engineering/technical requirements and objectives. Industry Day Information The Industry Day event will be held in person in the Washington D.C. metro area. See Attachment, Future USV Industry Day Registration Form to register for Industry Day. The exact address will be provided via separate correspondence to registered and confirmed companies only. Registration is required to attend Industry Day. Walk-ups are not allowed. The vessels will be built to commercial standards and will provide open architecture interfaces, a payload deck area, and services for at least one Twenty Equivalent Unit (TEU) sized containerized payload The purpose of this Industry Day is to improve Industry’s understanding of how the Future USV fits into the transforming surface force. The objective of Industry Day is to provide Government information and solicit industry feedback to accelerate the development and procurement of future USVs. This Special Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, proposal quotations, or as an obligation on the part of the Government.
