A sole source acquisition will be procured under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." CFM is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the CFM56-7B24 engine and is the only known firm with the necessary technical data, knowledge, equipment, facilities, and experience to provide the required supplies and servcies within the required timeframe. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement. The Government will consider all capability information received prior to the colosing date of this synopsis. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government to not compete with this proposed contract action is based upon responses to this notice solely within the discretion of the Government.
