## Description

The purpose of this modification award is to extend the procurement of services and suppliers that support the United States Navy (USN) and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) F/A-18E/F and EA-18G Service Life Assessment Program (SLAP) and Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) by adding a new ordering period beyond the current period ending on 24 April 2025. The work associated with this program includes the assessment of fatigue life of the structure, developing change proposals and solutions to address issues hindering the aircraft’s life extension, and planning for the physical modification of the aircraft to achieve the USN’s and RAAF’s service life goals.

This effort is a sole source award to The Boeing Company, as authorized by FAR 6.302-1 “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.” A cost plus fixed fee contract type was determined appropriate in accordance with FAR 16.301-2(a)(2) at the time of the original contract award due to the uncertainties involved in contract performance, specifically in the area of engineering analyses, which have not been done previously.

The full level of the efforts are unknown in that the detailed tasks required to support the SLAP/SLEP engineering analyses cannot be clearly defined and the Contractor’s required performance cannot be objectively quantified to a sufficient degree.
