The RFI seeks ideas and information regarding the modernization of a currently fielded survey system known as the Global Positioning System-Survey (GPS-S). Purpose Product Manager (PdM) Fire Support Systems (FSS), Program Manager (PM) Ground Weapons Systems (PM GWS), Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) requests information regarding industry’s capabilities and related experience to modernize the GPS-S. The GPS-S is a system that enables Marine Artillery Sensor Sections to provide timely and accurate survey information by operating autonomously in rugged and urban terrain while supporting expeditionary operations. This system currently consists of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components, custom Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) encrypted receivers, and the Trimble Business Center software.
