## Description

The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Spectro Analytical Instruments Inc., (CAGE 0ML16) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The Fleet Readiness Center, FRC East (MCAS) Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to establish a contract for preventative maintenance service of (1) Optical Emission Spectrometer for a base period of one (1) year with provisions for two (2) one (1) year option periods. Market research has revealed that Spectro Analytical Instruments Inc., the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), is the only source capable of providing the required services, the software and specific hardware.

Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis to Spectro Analytical Instruments Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
