## Description

Firm fixed price contract LCLGD24C0005 was sole sourced to CGS Publishing as this is the only known scanner that meets the Library's requirements. A Special Notice was posted on SAM.gov on 03/29/2024. The contract was awarded on 07/10/2024 for the total FFP of $398,141.00. Below is a description of the requirement. The Collections Digitization Division (CDD) requires contract support to replace an existing oversized scanner.

The Library of Congress (Library) has a rich history of digitizing oversized materials from its collections for use by a variety of stakeholders—including Library staff, Library patrons, researchers, the public, Federal agencies, members of Congress, and countless others around the world. In addition to the Library’s efforts to digitize its vast holdings, the Library strives to meet specific Federal Agencies Digital Guideline Initiative (FADGl) performance levels.

FADGI establishes the imaging standards and metrics for all Federal agencies, serving an essential role for digitization efforts for the entire cultural heritage community. As such, the Library’s current oversized scanner is FADGI-compliant and the CDD requires its replacement to be as well.
