The Library of Congress (Library) has a rich history of digitizing oversized materials from its collections for use by a variety of stakeholders—including Library staff, Library patrons, researchers, the public, Federal agencies, members of Congress, and countless others around the world. In addition to the Library’s efforts to digitize its vast holdings, the Library strives to meet specific Federal Agencies Digital Guideline Initiative (FADGl) performance levels. FADGI establishes the imaging standards and metrics for all Federal agencies, serving an essential role for digitization efforts for the entire cultural heritage community.
