The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/PZLEQ), located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, intends to award a sole source purchase order as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) to FEI Company, CAGE 1FJ95, a part of ThermoFisher Scientific. In order to comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the reason for lack of competition is as follows: ThermoFisher Scientific is the manufacturer of the Meridian IV System. ThermoFisher and its subsidiaries, are the only authorized repair and maintenance service providers for the existing system due to the highly specialized and technical expertise required for the services. Please see attachment to this notice for additional details. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes or proposals. A determination by the Government for the competition of this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources or authorized distributors may submit a capability statement that meets all the requirements in the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS), quotation or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government via e-mail to Mr. Jason B. Sav at jason.sav@us.af.mil no later than 13 December 2024 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Only responses received by this date will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
