## Description

Passive seismographs – 3 ea Tromino BLU Siesmographs with Grilla software licenses and MOHO HeeVee software licenses Rationale Product Requirements • Passive seismic array • Hand portable with internal power source • Wireless/cableless functioning • Minimum of 3 velocimetric channels with adjustable range • 3 accelerometric channels • Analog channel • GPS receiver • Radio transmitter/receiver • Radio triggering system • Selfcalibrating • Multiple device networking capability • Minimum 200ft depth capability • Data download and editing capability with full spectrum analyzation • H/V and dispersion curve and vibration analysis • H/V contouring module for 2D and 3D analysis.

For the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Minnesota State Office, passive seismic imaging of the subsoil is especially important to geologic investigations in the southeast area of Minnesota due to significant karst activity. Increasingly common drought conditions result in a groundwater table that is much deeper making identification, measuring, and visualization of sinkholes, sinks, and springs more difficult and, with electromagnetic data collection, nearly impossible.

The seismic data collection capability of the Tromino can perform these functions in drought conditions, as well as locating bedrock fractures that could lead to groundwater pollution. The Tromino is also able to determine potential areas where there is suitable bedrock fracturing to increase the porosity and permeability of the Hardrock aquifer. This can be used in areas of increased difficulty to determine the best possible location for a pumped well.
