In addition, it is used in conjunction with the auxiliary power unit (APU) system on C-5M model aircraft. The Edge Lighted Panel and Annunciator Dimmer (ELPAD) Circuit Card Assembly primary function is to convert 28VDC (Volts Direct Current) to 5VDC (Vols Direct Current) for the C-5 Aircraft. Switch position signals from Integrated Panel are converted into digital data by the 32-bit processor. The digital data is then transformed into serial data for transmission by the ARINC 429 communication interface CCA.
