This proposed action is for an Acoustic Mixer for the Wright Patterson Air Force Air force institute of Technology. See Attachment 1, Statement of Work (SOW). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106 -1(b)(1), “Contracting officers may solicit from only one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available”. The contracting officer has determined that only one source is reasonably available: ResodynAcoustic Mixers. This proposed procurement will be Sole Source under North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS)334513 , Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables. Business size standard for NAICS 334513 is 750 employees. PSC/FSC code: **6640:** Laboratory equipment and supplies. The proposed source is Resodyn Acoustic Mixers, located at 130 North Main Street, Suite 60 Butte, MT 59701. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, quotation, or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the reason for lack of competition is as follows: Acquiring a different company's acoustic mixer for the Metal Additive Manufacturing Lab would result in lower efficiency and delays to research. This is mostly due to the lower capacity of 300g vs 1000g requiring more than three times the amount of time preparing new alloys to print. Additionally, the added certainty of the optimal mixing from the acoustic mixer makes it a more viable option than another company's large but non-acoustic mixer, such as the current centrifugal mixer. The Metal Additive Manufacturing Lab alloys are used for AFIT Master of Science and PhD students for research to complete their curriculum and earn degrees. It is vital that the work for the students' research is accurate and is able to be produced efficiently. **Delivery Schedule:** Vendor will deliver one (1) Bench Top Mixing System to the Customer location FOB destination and will include any applicable delivery charges to the invoice.
