## Description

The Government is conducting this market research to identify potential sources that possess the repair data, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to repair the Signal Data Processor, 5895-01-654-5633, PN 700-00185-001, which is applicable to the UH-1N Helicopter. This requirement is for repair services. A five year contract consisting of a one year basic, and four one-year ordering periods.

The projected Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ) annually are identified above but may increase due to new aircrafts fielding. The Government’s needs for repair services are required in order to support current combat aircraft operations. The UH-1N is a utility helicopter that is used by the Air Force for missile site surveillance, nuclear convoy protection and search and rescue missions.

All the parts of a UH-1N, except the fuselage, can be replaced making the end of life of the UH-1N indefinite. The Signal Data Processor is used on Air Force UH-1N aircraft that perform for various missions as noted in background. The Signal Data Processor is part of the Traffic Collision Avoidance Device (TCAS) system, which consists of processor (TAS605A), transponder coupler, antenna, and the controller display unit. The unit displays Traffic Advisories (TA) and Proximity Advisories (PA) to the flight crew.

This assembly has special characteristics which, if not conforming to the original design of the part, could cause failure of the Signal Data Processor. Because of the complexity of this item and the lack of proprietary data, including test procedures, it would not be possible to establish an alternate source of repair for this item. The Signal Data Processor has a Repair Method Code/ Repair Method Suffix Code is RMC R4 RMSC Z. This part is a commercial/non-developmental/off-the-shelf item.
