## Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE The US Air Force Academy (USAFA), Commodities and Services Flight, 10th Contracting Squadron intends to award a single source contract for the purchase of:

Two continuous-wave (CW) single-frequency tunable diode lasers (Toptica - DLC TA PRO "NIR") in a system with the following salient characteristics/specifications: Laser 1 (Oscillator + Tapered Amplifier): Output power ? 2.5 W at 882 nm.

**Laser 2 (Oscillator Only):** Output power ? 90 mW at 882 nm. Performance specifications:

**Tuning Range:** Minimum 80% of rated power across the 840-885 nm range.

**Controller:** Integrated computerized controller with frequency tuning and locking.

**Linewidth:** ? 100 kHz.

**Resonator:** Laser resonator machined from a single block of aluminum (Al).

**Single-Mode Scan Range:** Continuous single-mode scanning ? 20 GHz, mode-hop free.

**Fiber Output:** FC/APC fiber optic output coupler with single-mode polarization-maintaining (SMPM) fiber. Two CW single-frequency tunable diode lasers (Toptica DLC TA PRO 780 "RED") in a system with the following salient characteristics/specifications: Laser 1 (Oscillator + Tapered Amplifier): Output power ? 2.8 W at 780 nm.

**Laser 2 (Oscillator Only):** Output power ? 90 mW at 780 nm. Performance specifications:

**Tuning Range:** Minimum 70% of rated power across the 775-790 nm range.

**Controller:** Integrated computerized controller with frequency tuning and locking.

**Linewidth:** ? 100 kHz.

**Resonator:** Laser resonator machined from a single block of aluminum (Al).

**Single-Mode Scan Range:** Continuous single-mode scanning ? 20 GHz, mode-hop free.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice by the closing date and time of this Notice.

IAW FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, the contracting officer determined the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
