## Description

Cannon Air Force Base exists in a region known for bird migration routes. These migratory birds present a potential hazard to aircraft in flight, as collisions with birds, known as bird strikes, can cause significant damage to aircraft engines and structures. Due to the high volume of air traffic at Cannon AFB, there is a need for a bird radar system to help manage this risk.

Cannon AFB is requesting a 1 year lease of a bird detection radar with the following characteristics: The bird radar will use a system comprised of solid-state Doppler radar(s) to provide bird and aircraft detection. 16 bit or higher high-rate signal processing. Variable electronically controlled scan rate. J/F-12 Certification to radiate. Multi- range system processing to detect concurrent avian hazards at close to intermediate ranges (4nm) and larger hazards (acft) at longer range (8nm).

Backup Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) with additional battery units or backup generator will be added to the system to provide at least 2 hours run time during power outage See attched specifications document for further requirements.
