The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-priced contract to Spartan Composites LLC under FAR 13.106-1(b) for FOD Mats on taxiways located on Barksdale AFB, LA. This procurement action is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i), Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. An extended description of the product being acquired is as follows: HMWPE Trackout Control Mat Form-Stakes (18” or 24”) FODS Round Head Form Stake FODS Heavy Duty Screw Anchor Concrete Sleeve Anchor (asphalt) Mat Moving Tool Suitable Anchor for Concrete or Asphalt Substrate *This notice does not constitute a solicitation document. Requests for such documents will not be considered. This design offers a unique manipulation of vehicle tires by the pyramid structures to release trapped mud/debris/FOD from the tires upon contact with the mats. This manipulation of the tire tread is a passive capability and unique to FOD Mats. Market research was conducted and has confirmed that the above company is able to meet the government's needs.
