The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Single Source only. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations.
