The action will be executed under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, and 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and the attached Single Source Justification. The media must comply to military specification MIL-P85891, Grade A, Type VII with the cost including inbound freight to Randolph. The nature of the sole source is that there is only one known manufacturer of the Type VII GPX Starch-g Acrylic Blast Media: Archer Daniels Midland. ADM is on the Air Force's Qualified Products List for Mil-P-85891 Plastic Media Blast. ADM has designated Midvale as their authorized distributor.
