(c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: The Department of the Interior (DOI) / U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Core Science Systems (CSS) Science Analytics and Synthesis (SAS) Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is seeking to obtain colocation services at an existing Tier II data center within a 150-mile radius of Denver, CO to host the next generation high-performance computing (HPC) system. The USGS does not have data center space suitable for the cooling and power density requirements of modern supercomputers. USGS is seeking these services from an organization experienced in HPC hosting, operations, research data services, and Earth systems scale modeling and simulation. This colocation of HPC resources sets the foundation for establishing future open science infrastructure, starting with the ability to easily share data and computing between USGS and other Earth science organizations, and academic collaborators. Interested vendors who believe they can provide such subscription services are invited to submit a response of no more than 10 pages which include the following information: 1. Company Name 2. Approximate Base Price Information The response can include, separate from the 10-page limitation, Past Performance for similar services conducted within the last three (3) years, and any questions to the government seeking clarification to the requirement.
