The object of this sole source award is to require the purchase of a boat to be used to conduct patrols and investigative activities on a wide range of waterways in Alaska from large rivers and lakes to small, shallow rivers and streams. The boat must be capable of carrying multiple passengers and cargo in shallow water and narrow channels in addition to being capable of handling large waves and rough water conditions. The boat must be equipped with a "jet" propulsion unit and the hull design must be capable of getting "on step" in a short distance with features to protect against impacts and running aground including but not limited to a steel bottom topped with UHMW. For loading and unloading cargo the boat most be equipped with a landing craft style bow lift gate/door.
