This is a Visual Cleaning and Polishing Kit Part Number: 0831-1000 NSN: 6070-01-734-1566. The 0831-1000 kit contains all the supplies necessary to clean single fiber and TFOCA 2.5mm end-faces. A miniature screwdriver with an extra 3/32” magnetic bit and a small pair of needle-nose pliers enable the maintainer to remove the four-channel plug insert and alignment sleeves. Any cracked or broken alignment sleeves can then be replaced with a new one as there are 50 new sleeves included in the kit. The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP) for the parts. The TDP is not available for release. This is a follow-on procurement for fiber optic cleaning kits. A small quantity of these kits were previously procured in early 2026 for training purposes.
