BACKGROUND: Energetics in the U.S. are produced almost exclusively using batch processing in large mixers with highly concentrated, pure input materials due to the susceptibility to impurities from the large reaction volume and limited control. Furthermore, these are fixed systems designed to only produce one class of product and require a large footprint (acres) of secondary processing to safely handle in batches.
