Therefore, a source wishing to submit an alternate product for approval will not only need to submit copies of all drawings, specifications, or other data necessary to clearly describe the characteristics and features of the alternate product being offered; but must also furnish drawings and other data covering the design, materials, etc., of the exact product currently approved, sufficient to establish that the alternate product seeking approval is equal to the current approved product. Data submitted shall cover design, materials, performance, function, interchangeability, inspection and/or testing criteria, and other characteristics of the offered product. Refer to DLAD 52.217-9002 for further details. Please provide the name, location, and points of contact for any new sources that are able to manufacture one or more of the items listed on the attached spreadsheet and are interested in submitting data for the approval process.
